Take the First Step

We can have an immediate impact on those around us. When we are living wholly for God and giving Him honor for everything, we will see atmospheres changed. We will see lives changed. We can see our own life trajectory change. We will see our family and friends change their lives. We will see it in our family line. Our children and grandchildren will have a hope and a future in Christ. Like Esther, you are born for such a time as this. You too are here at this time to pour your love and the love of Christ out on a fallen generation.

We have a promise for new life when we save Sodom. In Ezekiel 36:33–36 God says, “33Thus says the Lord GOD: On the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places shall be rebuilt. 34And the land that was desolate shall be tilled, instead of being the desolation that it was in the sight of all who passed by. 35And they will say, ‘This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden, and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are now fortified and inhabited.’ 36Then the nations that are left all around you shall know that I am the LORD; I have rebuilt the ruined places and replanted that which was desolate. I am the LORD; I have spoken, and I will do it.”

God is waiting for us to inhabit our city. He is waiting for us to take the desolate places and make them our own. He wants to give them to us as our inheritance. He wants to breathe new life into our cities. He wants them to be a shining example of what His love can do. It is all up to us now. The last 21 days, I have shared different ways we can save our cities and nation. There are many other examples which I will continue to share for the remainder of the month. We are only limited by our own imagination. God is moving in new ways and wanting us to bring His love to the world. We must get up from our porch, come out from behind our garage doors and engage the world. Be of the world, but not in it. Be the light on a hill, not in a church building waiting for the people to come to us. Follow Jesus’s example, get out, go to the people. Engage them where they are. Go show them the love of Christ and you will see a difference. Little by little we will take back our cities. When we are willing to stand for our faith, we will see the darkness shrink. We have already won. So stop hiding, be bold, and go save Sodom and embrace the invitation to step into more.

This weekend, go make a positive impact on just one person. We have all heard the journey of a thousand miles starts with one step. So today, right now, take that step. Take a step and turn your intention into action!
